Multi-Campus Governance

Organisations managing multiple campuses face a unique challenge: maintaining consistency without stifling each school's autonomy. Junipa's organisation portal is designed for exactly this balance.

Centralise What Should Be Consistent

Use the organisation portal to manage items that should be uniform across campuses:

  • Plan templates — distribute standard IEP, behaviour plan, and transition plan templates from the org portal. Schools can use them as-is or adapt them to local needs.
  • Disability categories — ensure all campuses use the same category definitions for accurate cross-campus reporting.
  • Adjustment level criteria — align how each campus interprets Supplementary, Substantial, and Extensive to prevent inconsistency in census numbers.

Let Schools Own Their Data

Each campus should manage their own:

  • Student profiles and enrolments
  • Evidence collection and case management
  • Day-to-day plan authoring and reviews
  • Teacher and aide access

The organisation portal aggregates and reports on this data — it does not replace the campus-level workflow.

Cross-Campus Reporting

The organisation portal provides several views that single-campus schools do not have:

  • Executive overview — student counts, evidence density, and plan coverage across all campuses at a glance
  • Campus comparison — identify campuses that may need additional support or resources
  • Financial estimates — aggregated funding projections based on adjustment levels across all schools
  • Audit readiness — spot campuses with evidence gaps before census

Shared Roles

Organisation-level users can:

  • View data across all connected campuses without separate logins
  • Run aggregated reports for board and governance meetings
  • Distribute updated plan templates to all schools simultaneously
  • Monitor health and sync status of each campus connection

Connecting a New Campus

When onboarding a new campus to your organisation:

  1. Set up the campus's Junipa instance with the correct configuration
  2. Generate an invite code from the organisation portal
  3. Have the campus admin validate the code and complete the handshake
  4. Verify data is syncing correctly (student counts should appear within minutes)
  5. Distribute your organisation's plan templates to the new campus

tip

The most effective multi-campus organisations treat the org portal as an oversight and consistency tool, not a control mechanism. Give campuses ownership of their evidence workflow, and use the portal to ensure nothing falls through the gaps.
