Staff Activity Recency View

Staff Activity Recency View is for schools that need a focussed follow-up list without putting the wider reporting detail on screen.

When this view is enabled, Staff Activity shows staff names and links each name through to that person's staff evidence. The page stays centred on who needs attention and where to review their evidence, not on exposing the full report context.

What changes when it is enabled

Staff Activity becomes a staff-first review list.

You can see the staff member's name, then open the linked staff evidence when you need the supporting records. That keeps the first screen simple: who has recent activity, whose evidence needs review, and where to go next.

The broader report detail stays out of this view. Use this when the task is to follow up with staff, check whether evidence is current, or help a staff member improve the record without sharing more information than the task needs.

When to use it

Use Staff Activity Recency View when you want to answer practical staff questions:

  • Who has recent evidence activity?
  • Whose evidence should we check before the next review meeting?
  • Which staff member needs support to make a record clearer?
  • Where can I open the staff evidence without searching through other reports?

It is especially useful before NCCD review meetings, during evidence clean-up, or when a learning support leader wants to keep follow-up work specific and respectful.

A simple review pattern

  1. Open Staff Activity.
  2. Scan the staff names and recent activity signals.
  3. Open the linked staff evidence for one person.
  4. Check whether the evidence is current, clear and connected to the student support being provided.
  5. Follow up with the staff member using plain language about the record that needs attention.

Good follow-up is specific. "Can you add the file that shows this adjustment happened?" is more useful than asking someone to fix evidence in general.

What staff should expect

Staff Activity Recency View does not change the evidence staff have recorded. It changes the first view a leader sees when checking recent staff activity.

If a leader follows up after using this view, the useful response is usually simple: open the staff evidence link, check the record, then add or clarify the evidence that explains the support. For guidance on writing strong entries, see Adding evidence and Attaching files.

The aim is a calmer evidence conversation: the right staff member, the right evidence link, and only the detail needed for the follow-up.
