Using the Adjustment Library in a plan

The Adjustment Library is the right-hand panel that appears while you build or edit a plan for a student who has medical conditions recorded. For each condition it gives you a definition, the ways the condition can present, and a list of suggested adjustments you can drop straight into the plan. It helps staff write from a shared understanding and reflects how your school chooses to support each condition.

Before you start

Record the student's medical conditions first. The library is driven by the conditions recorded on the student, so a student with no conditions recorded will not have any content to show.

If no conditions are recorded, the panel simply prompts you to add them. Add the conditions on the student record, then return to the plan and the library will show one block per condition.

Open the panel

The Adjustment Library appears on the right while you edit a plan. You do not open it separately. It shows one block per medical condition recorded for the student, so a student with three conditions gives you three blocks, each with its own definition, presentations and suggested adjustments.

Keep editing the plan on the left while you read the library on the right.

Definitions

Each condition block opens with a definition, shown so staff write from a shared understanding of what the condition is. The definition can come from two sources.

  • School level. A definition your school has written and curated for this condition. This reflects your school's own language and approach.
  • External source. A recognised clinical or terminology reference, for example SNOMED CT-AU, ICD-11 or DSM-5-TR, shown with its source label and a link out to the original reference.

When more than one source exists for a condition, you can switch between them with the source chips. Click a chip to read that source's definition.

Presentations

The Presentations section describes how the condition can present in a student. This section stays collapsed by default. That is deliberate. When you are writing a plan your attention is on the definition and on choosing the adjustments, so the presentations sit out of the way until you want them.

To read the presentations, click the Presentations heading. The chevron is on the left of the heading. Click the heading again to collapse the section once you have finished reading.

Suggested adjustments

The Suggested adjustments section is the practical part. It lists adjustments curated for this condition, and each suggestion carries a source tag, for example school defined, so you can see where it comes from.

Each suggestion has an Add to plan button. Click it to drop that adjustment straight into the plan's planned adjustments. The newly added adjustment is highlighted in the plan so you can see exactly where it landed.

When an adjustment is already in the plan, the same button shows Remove from Plan. So the one button both adds and removes: add it, and the label becomes Remove from Plan; remove it, and the label returns to Add to plan.

These suggestions are your school's plan adjustments, written for that disability. The library reflects how your school chooses to support that condition, not a generic list.

Manage the library

The Manage menu is the three dots beside each section heading, and it is visible to admins only. It is how an admin curates what staff see in the library.

  • On the definition section, the Manage menu opens the definitions admin page, where an admin curates the school definition for the condition.
  • On the Presentations section, the Manage menu opens the presentations admin page.
  • On the Suggested adjustments section, the Manage menu opens the plan adjustments admin page, where an admin curates the suggested adjustments for the disability.

If you do not see the three dots, you do not have admin access. Ask an admin at your school to make a change.

Good to know

  • The library is per condition. Each block applies to one recorded condition, so the definition, presentations and suggestions all relate to that condition only.
  • The suggested adjustments are starting points. Verify each one against the individual student's needs and year level before you rely on it.
  • Verify with staff expertise. The library supports good plan writing, but professional judgement still decides what goes into the plan.
  • The Manage menus are visible to admins only. Curating the school definitions, presentations and plan adjustments is an admin task.
