Collecting Signatures in Person

Signatures do not have to travel by email. From the plan view you can collect a signature on the device in front of you, or upload a signature that arrived on paper.

Each stakeholder row on the plan offers the options that fit that person.

Collect in person

Use this when the stakeholder is in the room, for example a guardian at a meeting.

  1. Open the student's plan and find the stakeholder's row.
  2. Click Collect in person. A signing dialog opens on your screen.
  3. Hand the device to the stakeholder. They review and sign on screen.
  4. The row updates to Consented with the date and the words "in person".

Closing the dialog without a signature withdraws the request. The row returns to its unsigned state. Consent is only ever recorded when someone actually signs.

Staff signatures are self sign

A staff member signs their own row. On your own row you see Collect signature, which opens the signing dialog for you. On another staff member's row you see Request signature, which sends them a My Junipa notification instead. You cannot open a signing session on someone else's behalf.

Upload a scanned signature

Use this when consent arrived on paper, for example a signed form returned to the office.

  1. On the stakeholder's row, click Upload scanned signature.
  2. Choose the scan (JPEG or PNG). The row records the consent and notes who uploaded it.

Reposition the scan preview

Scans arrive at whatever size the scanner produced, often a full A4 page where the signature occupies one corner. The preview box can be framed on just the signature:

  1. Under the preview, click Reposition scan preview.
  2. Drag the scan with the hand cursor and use the zoom slider to frame the signature area.
  3. Click Save.

This changes the preview only. The original uploaded file is kept unchanged.

Undoing a recorded signature

Two controls in the row's actions menu, with different results:

  • Revert consent returns the request to pending so the same request can be signed again. Any signature manager can use it.
  • Remove signature clears the recorded signature entirely and returns the row to its unsigned state, ready for a fresh request whenever you choose. Nothing opens automatically afterwards. Only admins and super admins see this option. The removed record stays in the audit trail.
tip

Signature activity, including in person collection and removals, is logged in the plan's Activity feed.
