Continuous Adjustment Profile
The Continuous Adjustment Profile (CAP) is Junipa's evidence ledger for students who need continuous support on campus. It is built for students at the Extensive adjustment level, whose adjustments, in the words of the NCCD, "occur at all times". The CAP captures who delivers each scheduled adjustment, where, in class or out of class, and confirms the whole school day is catered for.
If you are setting a student up with a CAP for the first time, start with Onboarding Extensive Students with a CAP, which walks through the prompt, the conversion, and the plan template. This page is about something narrower: how the CAP sits next to off-site coverage, because the two overlap and it is easy to reach for the wrong one.
CAP and off-site coverage: the overlap
The CAP and the Continuous Off-Site Adjustment schedule both prove continuous support, but they answer different questions.

Which one to use
The dividing line is where the student spends their week, not how high their adjustment level is.
- If the student is mainly on campus and needs continuous support there, the CAP carries the detail.
- If the student is regularly off campus, the off-site schedule carries the detail.
A student can hold both. An Extensive student who also does work experience can have a CAP for their on-campus days and an off-site schedule for the rest, and each report reads from whichever applies.
The point worth being clear on: you do not need to reach for the Extensive CAP just to cover an off-campus student. If the reason you are reaching for continuous coverage is that the student is off site, the off-site schedule is the right tool, whatever their adjustment level. Use the CAP for the on-campus continuous-support case it was designed for.
