Journal calendar views
The student journal calendar shows when support happened. A month view answers "was anything recorded that week". A day view answers "what was happening in period three when the incident occurred", which is usually the question a meeting is actually asking.
The calendar offers three views: month, week and day. Switch between them using the view control on the calendar.
Day view
Day view lays the school day out by the hour, so records sit at the time they happened rather than in a list under a date.
Use it when the timing matters:
- Preparing for a meeting where you need to talk through one day in sequence.
- Checking whether an incident followed a change of class, a transition or a particular lesson.
- Confirming that support recorded as happening in class lines up with the class that was running.
Records show the class start time where one applies, so you can see which lesson a record belongs to without cross checking the timetable. When you are looking at today, a line marks the current time, so the difference between what has already happened and what is still ahead is obvious at a glance.
Week view
Week view shows the school week across the days, which is the right level for most reviews. Use it to see whether support is spread across the week or concentrated in one or two days, and to spot the days that have nothing recorded at all.
Week view is a good default for a weekly learning support check. Month view is better for a term or census review, where you want coverage over time rather than detail.
Moving between the views
The views hold their place when you move between them. Open a week from the month, then drop into a day within that week, and Junipa keeps you on the same dates rather than returning you to today. The view you last used is remembered, so the calendar opens the way you left it.
What the views do not change
The views change how records are laid out, not which records exist. A record recorded later than the day it describes still sits on its activity date, not the date it was entered. See logged dates for how Junipa keeps those two dates apart.
If a record is missing from the day you expected, check the activity date on the record itself before assuming it was never entered.
